Bags up in NY and Europe to Greece bailout
On Wall Street, stock prices rose after a positive report on new home sales offset the mixed corporate earnings reports.
The market was cautious for much of the day after the announcement of Greece.
Sales of new homes surged 27% in March, rebounding from a record low in February, the Commerce Department reported. It was the best monthly performance since July and the highest monthly increase in 47 years. The advance was probably generated by consumers who try to put in a position to obtain federal tax credits expire at the end of this month.
Dow Jones industrial average advanced 69.99 points (0, 6%), to 11204.28. The Standard Poor #39; s of 500 stocks was an increase of 8.61 units (0.7%) to 1217.28, while the Nasdaq composite index rose 11.08 whole (0.4%) to 2530.15.
The dollar fell against the euro after rallying early in day to touch its highest level in a year.
The benchmark crude for June delivery rose $ 1.42 to $ 85.12 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
In London, Brent North Sea rose 1 , $ 58 to $ 87.25 a barrel on the ICE Futures exchange.
Meanwhile, the FTSE 100 index, which groups Britain”s capitalized companies, closed at a rise of 52 , 85 points (0.9%) to 5723.65, while Germany”s DAX index rose 90.81 units (1.5%) to 6259.53. The French CAC-40 rose 26.65 whole (0.7%) to 3951.30.
bags, especially the European, they were encouraged by the news that Greece sought Friday the activation of the rescue plan drawn up by the eurozone and the International Monetary Fund to raise the price of money in international markets for their bonds to an unsustainable rate of almost 9%. Greece will receive this year 30,000 million (40,000 million dollars, thanks to the plan.
In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 fell 34.63 points, or 0.3% to 10 914, 46 and in Hong Kong”s Hang Seng fell 210.45 points, 1%, to 21244.49.
In Seoul. the Kospi lost 0.1% in Shanghai index benchmark fell 0.5% and Australia fell 0.5%.
